For a peak into Johnny Clarke's best 1970s output with
the Aggrovators, this is the release to covet. With
Bunny Lee calling the shots, this has his most urgent
material that ranges from pure pop ("Rock With Me
Baby") to the more socially conscious ("Rebel
Soldering" and "Too Much War").
Although it's a collection, the playing is so uniformly
great that its consistency will make you think it's a
single session. Two cover versions are noteworthy:
"Tears on My Pillow," for starters, and even better is
Clarke's take on Ivory Joe Hunter's "Since I Fell for
You." A wonderful record.
