On Tour
Since the first appearance at London's Essential Music
Festival (Time Out event of the year 1997) the Blood and
Fire Sound System has played to around 150,000 people with
shows in France, the UK, Italy, Germany, Holland, Belgium,
Sweden, Denmark, Spain, the USA and Canada.
The main objective of the sound is to bring something of the
original Jamaican dancehall vibes of the 1970's and early
80's to a wider audience. The records and dubplates we play
may be over 20 years old, but we keep the vibes up to date
with the aid of some modern technology such as a sampler,
MIDI keyboard and Space Echo to add excitement and dynamics
to the mix.
Most people in Europe and North America have never seen or
heard a Jamaican sound system featuring deejays and singers
performing live over dubplates, but when they see this show
they make the connection! At this summer's Peace And Love
Concert in London the general consensus was that Trinity and
Dillinger and the Blood and Fire Sound System got one of the
best crowd responses of the day, out of an all-star bill
including Luciano, Capleton, Big Youth, Cocoa Tea and Buju
Banton.
To date the rollcall of artists who have toured extensively
with the sound includes Ranking Joe, U Brown, Joseph Cotton,
Trinity and Dillinger. The following deejays and singers
have also made appearances: Dennis Alcapone, Danny Dread,
Daniel Ray, Rod Taylor, Glen Brown and Don Mais a.k.a. Jah
